Bring Avurudu for Pregnant Mothers in SL

As you know, this year we wanted to do something different and picked out a project for Avurudu 2022 to step in and help 60 pregnant mothers in Kundasale, Arangala, Madamahanuwara, Maithalawa, Gangeyaya, Gomarankadawala, Anuradhapura and Siyabalanduwa and vicinity.

The main reason why we picked this initiative is, as most of you are maybe unaware, that government hospitals require pregnant moms to bring in a certain set of essentials when they get admitted to the hospital for childbirth. And most new moms are struggling to be able to provide for this due to family financial situations. And especially during this period of time since the cost of living in Sri Lanka is at its peak, it's almost impossible.

As the 3rd and 4th donations, 19 pregnant mothers from Gomarankadawala, and 10 moms from Anuradhapura. Our volunteer Niwarthana (Anuradhapura) and Harshana (from Hard truths Society) have been indeed a great help to coordinate this effort during these difficult times.

Childbirth is a miracle, giving a family a chance to celebrate it with one less thing to worry about is definitely a celebration. For all of you who donated, thank you for supporting a cause and making a difference, we will share the total list of contributors and the invoices when the last round of photos are shared.
