Kisal Epa Fundraiser-Millana&Kashyapa School Water Filter Repair

Kisal Pinsara Epa's Birthday fundraiser: Clean water repair of the RO water filters of the PO/Dim/Millana Primary School and NCP/PL/DIM/Kashyapa Maha Vidyalaya which is located in an extremely rural area of Dimbulagala division is complete. This noble task was completed with funds collected by Kisal Epa for his birthday this year. Kisal get together with us every year to celebrate his birthday with his friends and family by helping with a most needed cause of Raise Sri Lanka and we are indeed grateful for this year and all his friends contributions for these two schools.

For Millana Primary School lack of clean drinking water is a major problem as in this village, the hardness of the water is high. Hence the only place to get the clean drinking water is from the water filter at the temple. Other water supply is directly from the village reservoir and it is not good for consumption. The kidney related diseases are spiking in the village due to these reasons. The water filter of the school has been out of service for 4 years and they were seeking for a repair!

For NCP/PL/DIM/Kashyapa Maha Vidyalaya the current student population is around 500 and the academic staff is 32. The majority of the parents of the students are farmers and temporary workers. Some of the elderly family members of the students are suffering from kidney related diseases due to unclean drinking water. The water filter of the school is out of service and needs repair. The water bottles that they bring from their homes are not sufficient for consumption throughout the day.
