Polonnaruwa Alahara Vidyalaya - Smart TV for educational purposes

Po/Alahara Kanishta Vidyalaya, a rural school with 336 students primarily from farming families, was seeking assistance from RSL to acquire a Smart Board or an equivalent to project the day to day lessons to the students from the internet in the absence of the teachers as well as be able to access the readily available study materials in the internet today.

Currently, these students have limited access to Information Technology, with school being their sole source. Despite having an IT laboratory, the school lacks infrastructure to significantly enhance IT literacy among the students. As a solution with your help we supplied a smart television which would help them reach out to the outside world which is a luxury for them in their domestic financial situation.

So we want to thank all of you who donates to Raise SL monthly member program also to Harshana Lakmal Samaraweera and Hard truths for coordinating this effort with the principal Udagedara and Mr. Hitigama from the zonal education office to make this dream a reality for the students of Alahara Kanishta Vidyalaya.
