HELP DONATE FOR FOOD (4) - The majority of the donation distributed on Sunday were for Fisherman families around the areas of Waskaduwa, Wadduwa, Galpatha, Dediyawela, and Kalutara North who have no source of income due to the unfortunate situation that arose due to COVID, people no longer buy fish or seafood. Your donations were given out to 25 families this time with Rs. 3000 each package that consisted of 15 essential ration items.
When you go through this post and have a peek at their current living conditions you would see how blessed you are to have a proper roof over your head and food to keep you warm during this lockdown. We complain about having to stay at home while they walk miles and borrow money for interest to find food for the children.
Most of these families live across the ocean. And if you saw the video we posted earlier you would see that when the tides are high the seawater washes their houses over. Even our volunteers were faced with an accident due to the high tides and water crashing on the vehicle. Imagine having to live in conditions like that every day. And now that one and the only job they could do for a living is halted and you all did well by helping their families in need.
Another set of families' earnings are based on cleaning houses, plucking coconuts, working as laborers and day jobs. We also picked a handful of low-income families that have children who are differently-abled, blind, etc. These people already have things to worry about and now the pandemic hunger should not be one of them for at least a couple of weeks.
All of the donations for Sunday's donation is from the following friends. And may you all be blessed in life just like the lives you have reached to help and make better. (See attached screenshot of the breakdown costs with each donation mentioned)

Special thanks to Pramila Silva and his bunch of friends who have taken up this distribution to their shoulders with much responsibility to find the most deserving. And even with the heavy rains on Sunday they distributed to families and children so they do not have to go another day without a meal. And also to Priyandima Perera for giving us the information about this initiative in the first place. Thank you all who are sharing our posts and spreading the word, telling a friend, and being part of us in this journey through various other donations including our monthly members - May you stay safe!
UPCOMING - We got a request yesterday to provide "Vegetable packs" for the areas of Peliyagoda, Ja-ela, Sapugaskanda, Ragama where there is still a lockdown in place. Please reach out if any of you can help us
