It was a wonderful day for Sathuta children’s home. They got new clothes and toys and a lot of other needs for the home. The innocent smiles of these orphaned children who has simple satisfactions of life, was unmistakable.. They were geneuinely happy to get a new dress and a doll
We are indeed glad this was a cause we managed to pick for the Valentine’s Day this year and for everyone who was part of it! This initiative started as a meal for the home from our monthly members ($1) from everyone would have made it possible but then eventually we managed to collect Rs. 123,086 for this cause.
These items they were trying to get donated for an long time and we managed to fillfill them. (screenshot attached with costs)
*3 new iron beds
*Rations for a month
*Outdoor flood lights and LED lights
*Daily items (like soap, toothpaste, sanitary pads, soap powder, brooms etc)
*3 categories of Undergarments for 29 children
*Doll, dress for the children and cupcakes
*Full meal with 5 items
*Masks !
Due to the pandemic the home was getting less and less funding and donations. And our volunteers also took precautions of keeping a safe distance from the children today. We are indeed grateful for @niwarthana Dhananjali our youngest volunteer for all her hard work to get everything done at the best possible quality and best cost. Thank you for genuinely taking care of these children and their needs!
