DONATION (2) COMPLETION: Urgent medicine to Colombo North Teaching Hospital, Ragama (Pediatric)

When we receive "Thank you cards" from sick children, it really means how much they had time in hand to wait for this medicine and how grateful they must be to receive the urgent medicine that would help complete their liver transplant surgeries during this time of need..

Most people associate liver disease with adults. However not many are aware that there are many children in Sri Lanka suffering from terminal liver diseases. A Liver transplant is their only and totally fulfilling hope.

Human Albumin (low salt) CSL Behring 20% 50ml worth over LKR 1.3 million to Ragama Teaching Hospital was donated with your contributions. Albumin is a type of intravenous infusion which is essential for liver transplant surgery to optimize low albumin before the surgery to maintain body circulation.

Dr. Liyanage Ranaweera (Director - Colombo North teaching hospital, Ragama), Dr. Meranthi Fernando (Consultant pediatrician) along with doctors/sisters and staff in the Liver transplant unit received Albumin donations at the Ragama hospital.

They were handed over by our Raise Sri Lanka local committee representative Neranjan Dissanayake. The initial requirements were shared with us by Prof. Guwani Liyanage in collaboration with @Colombo North Centre For Liver Diseases (CNCLD)

All of these donations are possible because of your continuous donations to our fundraisers. Thanks for the trust and support. We have attached direct quotes, invoices from the supplier, hand-off photos, and a letter from the hospital accepting the donation.
